Amidst the long evolution of battle tested small arms, certain leaders have emerged. One is Dave Lauck of D&L Sports™. He brings forth unique features born from personal experience. His approach to building guns is to save lives. A master gunsmith and policeman who understands not only mechanisms, but purpose. Dave Lauck is a master pistolsmith at the peak of his profession. No sharp edges were detected on Lauck's 1911, and the action itself is smooth as glass. The trigger pull was very well executed. Very impressive were the rugged, Lauck designed fixed sights. An absolutely superb sight picture. I love these sights. A lot has gone into making Lauck's professional model 1911 a user friendly 24/7 companion gun. At night a surefire x200 slid on the frame rail effortlessly. Accuracy was tested from a bench at 25 yards handheld. The result was five shots in a tight little circle that measured 1.05", and the best three rounds went into 0.65". This absolutely validates the superb accuracy of the D&L Pro Model. Extrapolate the best groups and it works out to 1.20" at 50 yards. A D&L Professional Model delivers mechanical accuracy that could literally win the National Bullseye Championship at Camp Perry. More important was the flawless functioning. Our testing included the broadest range of ammo and the D&L pistol functioned 100% reliable. D&L Sports™ has gone to the next level of the game in prestige, high performance 1911 pistols.

Lauck's many years of training have taught him how to build an AR-15 that works, and one that can stand up under the literally scorching heat of intensive rapid fire and cumulative abuse. Lauck's stock design places the comb in exactly the right place to mate with iron sights or red dot optics. The carbine had Lauck's heavy duty rear sight, as rugged as a monkey wrench. The front sight is a heavy duty blade. The result is a bold and quickly acquired iron sight picture. The muzzle was tipped with a compact and extremely efficient recoil compensator. The carbine was an impressive piece. The D&L test carbine got shot a lot, including a couple weeks with a SWAT team. It had over 1000 rounds through it before its first cleaning. It experienced no malfunctions. In fact it never experienced a single stoppage of any kind in any of the testing. Thanks in a large part to the extremely effective compensator, we could get tight center hits with every shot at a rate of 5-6 shots per second. The carbine had good balance, the weight is just where it should be. The SWAT team commander said he never shot an AR that came up faster or stayed on target better for fast snap shooting. Rotating the D&L carbine 360 degrees on the axis of the barrel still resulted in functioning without a hitch. At urban rifle distances, the carbine can put bullets into a hole smaller in diameter center to center than the diameter of a single bullet. In addition to accuracy, we had 100% feeding and cycling reliability over a great many rounds, and 1000 or more of those rounds were fired without cleaning.

Dave,
We are projected for mobilization to Afghanistan again very soon. For most of us it will be our 3rd AFG deployment. We are all glad we went to the ITRC. We have not received anything close to the quality training we received at DLSATA.

Dave:
I finally got a chance to fire 200 rounds through my new D&L 1911. Not only is the gun accurate, it is reliable. I used to get malfunctions with my custom 1911 from a big name custom shop. Yours operated flawlessly. I was also able to group 5 rounds inside of 1.5". I am amazed at the speed and accuracy of this sight system in both day and night conditions. I am happy.
Thanks,
Defensive Shooter

Dear Dave,
I just received your 1911 Professional Model Pistol, and I must say that I have been totally amazed by it. Inspecting it for the first time showed it to have an incredibly fine level of craftsmanship. The fit and finish were second to none. It is one of the most beautifully made firearms that I have ever seen. Shooting it was a pure joy. I conducted a regorous testing process under a variety of conditions. Reliability was flawless and its accuracy was astounding. But I didn't completely appreciate the quality of workmanship in it until I disassembled it for cleaning. All the components just scream durability and reliability. Considering all the thousands of hours of pure joy that I'll have in shooting it I consider it to be a very economical purchase. Thank you very much for providing me with this fine quality firearm,

The woodsman has to consider the long range shot. An accurate 1911 .45 can deliver the goods. I have a custom 1911 by Dave Lauck that will put 5 shots in an inch or better at 25 yards with Federal Match Hardball or Federal Hydra Shok. Nearly a century of history has made the 1911 .45 auto the quintessential homeland security pistol, from the rural game fields to house-to-house combat, and nothing is going to change that.

Dear Dave,
I just received from you my AR-15 upper upon which I had you place your custom hand-guard, and it is totally awesome. I just wish that I had tried your hand-guard before I wasted time and money on a number of other useless brands of hand-guards. I proceeded to then take my 16" Colt out and shoot a 3/4" group at 100 yards with it. Attaching all my accessories to it was ridiculously simple. Your hand-guard appears to be much more rugged and durable than those "other" brands that I tried. Thanks again for providing me with that completely reliable and awesomely durable hand-guard that I have been searching for, for such a long time now.
Sincerely,
Tactical Shooter / M.D. / ITRC Competitor
