The Expendables

Ruger Blackhawk revolvers have provided reliable service for generations. However, the flimsy and sharp adjustable rear sight is a known failure point. There have been decades of complaints about breakage, loss of zero, poor sight picture, interference with fast single action shooting, cut up hands and waders. The heavy duty DLS inc Hard Use sights solve these problems. The DLS rear sight nests down inside the protective channel of the top strap and can be secured by one or two screws. The DLS sight is designed to work with the factory front sight. If minor zeroing adjustments are required, they can be machined right into the sight. Then you have a perfectly zeroed revolver that will never lose zero. The rear sight notches can be tight and square, or the more popular and wider U notch. For fast action shooting, in less than perfect lighting conditions, the wider U notch performs best. Simple installation can be performed by individuals capable of using basic hand tools.

What Blackhawk Shooters say:

Dave,
Subject: Re: Sights for ruger super Blackhawk hunter
I received the new sight and was able to successfully install it last week. 13" groupings at about 70 yards or so, free hand. Since my Ruger Super Blackhawk is more of a backup gun for me, that works just fine. Thanks! I like how solid and low profile the sights are, since I'm in the brush a lot.

Finally! A rear sight suitable for the daily use my Ruger revolver gets subjected to on the ranch. Thanks Dave!
Rancher

I am a big believer in the simplicity of the single action big bore for my travels in bear country. However, the factory rear sight has let me down in terms of durability. Even when it was not broken, the sight picture was poor and hard to acquire. Problems solved with the DLS heavy duty rear sight.
Revolver Shooter

My ruger revolver is my constant companion while fly fishing in big game country. I wear the revolver inside my waders to keep it dry and out of the way, but always available. The factory rear sight has cut through my waders and has been a real snagging problem during the draw. The DLS sight has been a great addition to my Ruger and has cured the problems of a sharp adjustable sight.
